NCSF, NESTA, NASM, USAT (USA Triathlon), TRX, Bachelors in Psychology,
My name is Nicholas Walejeski and I have been involved in the fitness industry since 2004. I have group and individual clientele ranging from college level athletes looking to increase sports performance, to older populations looking to increase quality of life. I have a passion for the fitness and wellness industry and believe that in order to successfully change one’s fitness lifestyle, one’s current psychological abilities must be challenged and changed as well. I have a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Cal State San Marcos and am currently certified from multiple nationally recognized personal training certifications (NCSF, NESTA, NASM).
I believe in a holistic approach to fitness and wellness where my clients not only re-shape their bodies, but they re-shape their thoughts and attitudes towards fitness. I have competed in college level volleyball and have coached Men's Varsity Volleyball at Davis High School. I am experienced in developing personalized weight loss programs, resistance training programs, hypertrophy training, core training, polymetrics, functional training, post-injury programming, and special population training. I have been leading indoor and outdoor boot camps for over 5 years now and am continually impressed by the repeatedly developing abilities of my participants. Triathlon training has developed into one of my most successful fitness programs where people develop into a brand new sport and build lifetime friendships with fellow competitors.
I have been leading the triTRAINed triathlon training program for the past 4 years in Davis. The 2014 season will be my 5th year coaching the team. Each year we grow stronger and represent deeper within the triathlon community. We are a goal oriented program and are proud to train a wide range of athletes; from first timers looking to complete their first triathlon, to consistent top three podium finishers. I hold a Level 1 USAT triathlon certification. Please take a minute to read our success stories in the Before and After section.
I like to bring a fun and creative edge to my fitness programs where your current levels of fitness are challenged in new and exciting ways. ACE: Certified Personal Trainer, NSCA: Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist B.A., Sociology, Sonoma State University, Credentialed Physical Education Teacher, Former DHS Assistant Varsity Baseball Coach
Fitness has always been a part of my life. As I grew up in Davis as a young boy I was an avid baseball, basketball and soccer player and loved the thrill of competitive sports. As I went through high school and into college, I realized that baseball was my true love and to excel in my passion I needed to focus on getting into shape, which meant getting serious in the gym. It was during my junior year of high school that I started strength training and working on my cardiovascular fitness. I was hooked. The way that exercising made me feel was unmatched by many other aspects of my life and I now want to spread that feeling.
I am realizing every day that fitness is my passion and I love passing on the vast number of advantages that come with an active lifestyle. I am a Certified Personal Trainer through the American Council on Exercise (ACE) as well as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the NSCA. These two certifications give me the knowledge and skills needed to train the recreation fitness enthusiast as well as competitive athletes.
If success in sports is what you desire, I can be the person that helps you achieve that goal, but that is just one aspect of my skill set. I enjoy helping others get comfortable in a fitness setting, losing weight, gaining muscle, improving balance and mobility, or any other goal that you may have. I live my life in a way that promotes health and longevity and encourage others to do the same. I realize that sometimes life gets in the way but when it does, I will be there to help you persevere. I welcome challenges, whether I am helping someone lose weight who has previously had little success, or training someone to compete in an event that they never thought they could before. I encourage you to follow your passion, develop goals, and reach for things that you thought were out of your reach before. Let’s get fit and lets do it together.
NASM Certified Trainer | B.S., Business Administration
Are you looking to lose weight, get fit, or increase the intensity of your training regimen but perhaps need a little guidance, encouragement, or motivation? My name is Derek Haff, and I am eager to help you meet all your fitness objectives. While I am new to personal training in the professional sense, physical fitness has been at the center of my daily activities for as long as I can remember, and it has always been among the top priorities of my life. I have been involved in many aspects of athletics, having played football for many years as a youth, softball as a young adult, and have been studying the art of karate for the last couple years. Throughout, I have been highly devoted to all aspects of fitness, including weight training, aerobic exercise, and nutrition. My family has been members of the various manifestations of Get Fit Davis for about 25 years now; in fact, from the time that it first opened, and I have been working out here since I was 14 years old.
I earned my bachelor’s degree in Entrepreneurship from Sacramento State University in 2015 and I have decided to devote my time and energy to the thing that I am most passionate about: fitness. Towards that end I concentrated my efforts during my final semester of college to obtaining my N.A.S.M. certification as a physical trainer. Although some might say that physical fitness is not a career, those who dedicate their lives to fitness know that nothing is further from the truth. Given the aging population and the obesity epidemic, fitness is clearly an area with unbounded potential and opportunity. Devoting myself to help others achieve their fitness goals gives my life purpose beyond what could typically be achieved in the business environment.
Whatever your fitness goals may be, I can assure you that as your personal trainer, achieving those goals would be my highest priority. Your success will give me great personal satisfaction, and I will leave no stone unturned in making sure you become as fit as you want to be. I hope that my enthusiasm for fitness will be contagious, and you will embrace physical fitness as your main focus in life as I have.
TRX Suspension Individual and Group, TRX Rip Trainer.
I am one of those ‘has been’ athletes, a very competitive gal, always pushing the envelope performing very well in several sports. Not without consequences, I crashed and burned in flames several times sustaining many injuries; some of which gradually became more painful, less stable and movement constrained. A healthy active lifestyle is part of my DNA, and those who know me will attest to this. I was working out 6 days a week (varying and up ticking the elements) and along with Yoga and Pilates; this regime was not really helping the issues I was experiencing. As a ballroom, Latin, Swing and Argentine Tango dancer, my skills were being impacted on the dance floor. I also ran into the big “C” (cancer) – surgeries, treatments etc. with positive results. However, notwithstanding, this and other health issues must be “honored”.
I mentioned my personal concerns to a very good friend who is a TRX Trainer and he invited me to work out with him. Yes, we modified some elements to honor my issues; success and positive results are accumulating.
I hold 3 TRX Certifications: TRX Group Suspension, TRX Group Rip Training and TRX Sports Medicine Suspension Training. I am passionate about TRX, recognizing that the body is an interconnected chain of muscles that should be trained on movements that challenge all of them through every plane of motion. TRX gives me the methodology to make my body a machine.

ACE Certified Personal Trainer
Hey! I'm Ashton Wolgast, a Certified Personal Trainer through the American Council on Exercise. While my professional title is new to me, I've had a passion for fitness that’s lasted a lifetime. My mom, Honey, always had my brother and I signed up for sports, dance, and anything else that kept us social and active. As a kid I started out with gymnastics and cheer leading. Now I know what you're thinking "cheer leading... really?" However, all stigmas aside, our coaches were tough. Cheer taught and helped me improve my strength training, conditioning, coordination, technique, and agility. It's what got me started. Then, after cheer, I stayed interested in fitness and exercise because of the many benefits of an active lifestyle. In fact, because of my workouts, I went through a total mind and body transformation. This new mindset is the one I want to pass on today.
Over the years I’ve learned and practiced many different methods of training. I started with high-intensity interval training (or HIIT) with calisthenics and plyometrics, then worked my way to powerlifting here at Get Fit Davis. Working at Get Fit Davis has granted me the extraordinary opportunity to train and pass on my passion for fitness. Every day, I gain experience and knowledge from others in the industry. I get to train with Coach Nick Walejeski in the triTRAINed program and with Coach Colin Schmitt in the Davis Boxing Academy. Both of these mentors help me learn new skills and better my training approach as I add to my "fitness library". Currently, I've been able to develop my own style for teaching fitness through instructing boot camps and leading group fitness workouts.
My fitness philosophy is to balance workouts, the same way you would balance a diet. I believe it is crucial to train in a variety of ways in order to learn what works best for you and to keep every part of you fit and healthy. My ultimate goal is to help people figure out how they like to get moving so that they can see their workouts in a way that gets them excited about having an active lifestyle. If you have a weight loss goal, want to look more toned, or just want to feel better during your daily life, I can help you find a program that suits you and helps get you excited about physical fitness. Your fitness is something that will change the way you think like it did for me. You will be more interested in your time-management, food, sleep, and self- improvement in all other areas of your life. Coming to the gym is fun for me. It's a chance to be better than I was the day before, a chance to practice a new skill. Overall, it's a chance to keep learning about myself. Being able to work out is not just a box we have to check off at the end of the day. It is a privilege. I want to help others find that feeling, and am so excited to have that opportunity!
ACE Certified Personal Trainer, B.S. in Exercise Biology from University of California, Davis, 4th Degree Tae Kwon Do Black Belt, 2013 USIBA National Open Division Champion, NCBA National All-American, 2013 NCBA National Bronze Medalist, 2013 NCBA Regional Champion, 2013 NCBA Sportsman of the Tournament
Certified as a professional by the American Council on Exercise, certified in the classroom with a B.S. in Exercise Biology, and certified in the boxing ring by the School of Hard Knocks, I bring a variety of different training methods and techniques to build an adaptable, flexible training program to fit any and all fitness goals. I am immensely passionate about personal health and well-being, and look to develop programs that are both accessible at every level of fitness and challenging to create improvement and change. I believe that everyone, with enough determination and dedication, can achieve their personal health goals, and I see it as my job to make those goals happen.
As an athlete, I’ve been involved sports since a very young age. I practiced Tae Kwon Do for 12 years (always wanted to be a Ninja Turtle), and competed Varsity Track and Field, Cross Country and Rowing. However, my latest and greatest love, far and away, is Boxing. I’ve trained in boxing for the past 5 years, and have competed and now coach for the UC Davis Boxing Club. I’ve seen the highs and lows in competition, won a National Championship and learned a lot of good, but hard fought lessons. From my experiences in boxing, and training as a whole, dedicated exercise is the means to both a healthier state of living and a healthier state of mind.
While I employ a variety of training techniques, Boxing is my specialty. Anyone interested in training could anything from specific, focused, technical boxing instruction to simply incorporating boxing fitness aspects into any other training program. My hope is to use the skills I’ve learned over the years to help your own personal development, in whatever way possible.
You’ll be floatin’ like a butterfly, and stingin’ like a bee, their hands can’t hit what their eyes can’t see!

I grew up in Davis and have always been involved in sports and dance. I began teaching dance in 2002 and shortly thereafter, began to teach yoga and Pilates. I then started boot camps, strength training and spin. Throughout my journey as an instructor, I have found a true passion for helping others meet their personal fitness goals.
Exercise should be fun and I try to bring that to every class and training session, even a grueling boot camp. I have always believed that our bodies are meant to be enjoyed and used. Fitness does not just have to be something we suffer through to attain a certain appearance or level of health, although these are meaningful goals. But fitness can also be a discovery of what each of us can achieve with our bodies so that we can live more fully. For this reason, I love to see my strength training clients get stronger an d discover muscles they never knew they had, my Zumba students have pure fun, fun, fun, my yoga students do the first handstand of their life, my Pilates students gain control and stability of the deep muscles of the torso and my boot campers pat each other on the back for surviving another class.
I also enjoy crossing over the fitness ‘disciplines’ to help clients achieve optimal athleticism and wellness. I love to see my yoga regulars work in some of the strength work of Pilates and resistance training to bring their practice to a new level, for my boot campers to benefit from some of the dynamic movements of yoga and my spin classes to incorporate the interval training typical of a boot camp. These structured fitness disciplines or ‘routines’ are wonderful for laying a foundation in which clients can develop muscle memory and coordination through the familiarity of a distinct style of exercise. But once that is achieved, I have witnessed the synergy of varied types of exercise change lives. And that’s what my line of work is all about!

Hi! My name is Rachel, and I have been an avid fitness enthusiast since I was a child. My path started when I was ten years old, at The Abby Lee Dance Company, where I practiced gymnastics, jazz dancing and ballet. My journey continued into high school, where I discovered weightlifting and yoga. I loved the way bodybuilding made me feel, and yoga seemed like the natural progression from the flexibility and body control I had developed through dance and gymnastics. Over the years, I have continued to build on my skills, knowledge, and experience. I have practiced bodybuilding, power lifting, various forms of yoga, high intensity interval training, and have completed programs like Beachbody's Insanity.
Sure, there have been times over the years that I fell off of the fitness bandwagon and felt the effects of getting out of shape. However, I got back up and got back to a healthy and active lifestyle. Each time, I was reminded of how amazing this lifestyle feels! I would love to help you discover this same feeling! Exercise, living healthy, being active and strong... These are habits that will grow on you. They will become a part of who you are and what makes you truly enjoy life to the fullest. Together, we can work to find the style of exercise that best fits YOU; not just physically, but mentally. I want to help you, even if that means referring you to another of our talented trainers here at Get Fit Davis. You have to LOVE what you DO! And what you do every day is what determines who you become.
Whether your goals are general fitness, fat loss, bodybuilding, maximal strength, cardiovascular conditioning, gaining flexibility, or you just want to be able to do a chin up, we can work together to reach your goals. I want to help you become the best YOU that YOU can be. Let's get together and create something great! I've done it for myself and I know you can do it too. What's holding you back?
ACE certified personal trainer, Certified Body CombatTM instructor, Certified Zumba® instructor
I started my fitness journey in Brazil, when I was 5 years old, with dance classes that I enjoyed for over 10 years. By the end of high school, strength training became an alternative to keep me fit and physically active in my busy schedule. The gym introduced me to a whole new enchanted world. I surfed through different classes, styles and techniques until I landed on HIIT, where I stayed for a while in order to increase cardiorespiratory and muscular endurance. More recently, I became interested in powerlifting and Olympic weightlifting techniques as I dipped into CrossFit waters, winning my very first competition (medal from photo) in April 2019!
Even though working in the fitness industry was my main goal and passion since the beginning, other paths led me to Engineering (yes, I have a M.Sc. degree from UC Davis!) which now helps me to understand the mechanics and kinetics of the body, and induces me in prioritizing form in my trainings, avoiding injuries.
I’ve been living in Davis since 2009, coming straight from Brazil, and I love this city that brought me so much, including my new career. What made go from Engineering to fitness? My kids. I realized that working with what my passion lies, would be fun and joyful, and would make me and my family happier and healthier, and it did. What I didn’t see coming was the rewarding feeling that it brings me to see my clients feel the joy of living a healthier life. So, needless to say, best decision ever!
If you are looking into:
- getting started in an exercise program;
- losing/gaining weight;
- getting stronger or toned;
- improving activities of daily living;
- go back to your fitness life or want to start one (new moms);
- powerlifting and Olympic weight lifting;
or need help achieving any fitness goals, I am always up for the challenge. I enjoy seeing people thriving in health, so it doesn’t matter if you work with a trainer, by yourself or take classes, let's just get fit, Davis!
