Yoga with Danielle:
Vinyasa (which translates to “flowing with breath”) is a dynamic style of Hatha Yoga which joins physical postures, or asanas, with inhales and exhales, creating a steady internal rhythm for the practice.
Emphasis is placed on core strength, flexibility, and balance as well as concentration and power of breath control. This mixed level class is based on asanas, deep breathing, mindfulness, and listening to the body. Yoga props are encouraged, but not necessary.
Yoga Flow with Julia:
This Vinyasa centered, movement oriented class is suitable for all Yoga practitioners. Asanas (poses) flow from one to another, linked by breath, building deep internal warmth. Class includes pranayama: breath practice, exploration of the Sun Salutation cycle, standing asanas, core integration, forward and back bends, twists, hip openers, deep stretches and final Savasana. Blocks and straps can be useful additions, but are not necessary.
Pilates with Donna
Pilates is a practice based on 34 exercises refined by Joseph Pilates to strengthen and stabilize the core. As we work on core stability many other muscle groups also come into play. Some free weights are incorporated as well for those who choose to use them. The exercises are presented at multiple levels to make the class accessible to various levels of exercisers. We work through all three planes of the body for a good balance of strength and flexibility.
